Top 10 Things I LOVE About My Dad!

In honor of Father's Day I decided to make a list of the "Top 10" things I love most about my Dad!

1. His love for the Lord and that he has raised us to know and love Him also!

2. The fact that he makes up and sings random songs about anything! I find myself doing it sometimes too! ha!

3. His sense of humor, he can always make me smile!

4. His love for sports and that he is (was for me) willing to help coach and practice with us kids so that we could be our best!

5. His hard work and self sacrifice for his family!

6. His unconditional love, support and encouragement throughout my life!

7. His "grilling" abilities! ha! He is def. a "Grill Master"!

8. His discipline in my life and that he cared enough about me and my life to teach me about right and wrong!

9. The fact that he loves to aggravate my Mom and sisters on purpose. Drives them nuts...makes me laugh! :)

10. Most importantly I love my Dad because 24 years ago he chose to be my Dad and not just let my life be another statistic. I know that at times it has been hard and life may not have been what he expected or even wanted for himself , but I can never remember a time in which he complained about the responsibilities he had or the hard work he had to put forward. My life could have been so different if I had not had a father who loved me and wanted the best for me. I can't help but think about others that haven't been so fortunate and their lives are spent being torn between family members and choices over holiday etc.. I am so incredibly grateful for the love my parents not only have had for me but also for one another.

My Dad is my Hero!

Happy Thursday From Tucky!

Happy Thursday from "Tucky"!

This week has been ok so far. Jordan started his part time job on Monday and really enjoys it. He is working in the Library at Hebrew Union.

We have had really bad storms this week which was a little scary! One night we ended up sitting in the bathroom for a while because of a tornado being spotted a few miles away! There were all kinds of sirens and lots of loud thunder and lighting! Very unsettling but we were thankful for the Lord's protection! As my Mama said it gave us a whole new meaning to the hymn "Til The Storm Passes By"! ha!

Kelsie and I have had a fun time just being around the house and playing together! And of course enjoying her new daily obsession...Popcorn! ha!

Here is an update on the "favorites":

Kentucky:

1. A sweet little "seasoned" lady in our Church named Jill...she has offered to help me anytime I need it! Ha! She was so precious. She had the church Secretary email me all of her info so I could get in contact with her if I needed any help!

2. The fact that the Target is placed right across from the Hospital! ha! I think it was strategically placed there for when I have "Kiwi"! Not that I will be going to Target during it but it will be fun for any family and friends who want to kill time! ha!

3. Everything is really close! All major stores, our church, Kroger etc. are all within 10 mins!

4. The fact that this is only temporary! ha! It is pretty lonely!

Pregnant:

1. Longer finger nails!

2. Kelsie and this new munchkin will only be 2.5 years apart and hopefully grow up and be good friends!

3. Looking at fun baby stuff online!

4. Deciding on names! We have a girl's name all picked out! Boy has been a little more difficult! So I say it just needs to be another girl! ha!

Living room!

Yay! The living room is complete! Except for hanging the mirror above the couch and a few more pics!

Hugs & State Lines

Happy Sunday!

Today we went to Fort Mitchell Baptist Church and we LOVED it! Jordan went last week and this past Wednesday night but I was sick on Sunday and they don't have a nursery Wednesday nights so munchkin and I stayed home. The people we so friendly and genuinely cared about us! They were so precious. They treated us like they have known and loved us their whole lives! ha! The were so concerned that I didn't feel good last Sunday and were so excited that I was there today. It felt very "swampish" which I LOVED!!!!! It was a great church and I look forward to seeing if that is where the Lord leads us. When we got Kelsie from the nursery she was so precious! She waved and said "Bye My Friends!" ha! I love that she is so easy going and friendly! She just went right in this morning like she had done it a 100 times! Such a precious girl!

Jordan has applied for a Children's Director position with the church and has a meeting with the Pastor about it on the 23rd! Prayers are greatly appreciated for this meeting and for the Lords provision for jobs!

Jobs have not been easy to find so far and with being so sick with this pregnancy we are trying our best to figure out what the best thing is going to be for me working. Please pray for wisdom for our decisions and for the Lord to show us what he would have us do. We know that the Lord brought us here so He will take care of us but it makes us incredibly anxious to have bills with no income coming in....but we are trusting Him!

Living on love has never been so true! ha!

Interesting fact about where we are in Kentucky. I realized the other day that we are 5 minutes from the Ohio state line, 10 minutes from the Indiana state line and 15 minutes from the Illinois state line. Thought that was pretty interesting. This is a part of the country we have never really explored before so it will be neat to see different things while we are here!

Favorite thing about Kentucky today: The sweet people and their welcoming arms at FMBC!

Favorite thing about being pregnant: Losing 6 lbs from being so sick! ha! Perhaps that isn't something to be excited about but at least it isn't gaining! (yet)

1...2....3!

Soooooo I have been a little slack and forgot to post my favorite things the past 2 days! So sorry! ha! So tonight I will give you 3! ha!

Kentucky:

1. WATER!!!!!!!! Growing up with pools, spending summers at the river and even just going over bridges had given me a great love for WATER! When we lived in Lynchburg I used to feel so "dehydrated" at the lack of water and rivers around! ha! I was so excited to find the other day on a little adventure I took that there is a river only 4 miles from our house! I was so so so excited!!!! It was beautiful!!!! I can't wait to take Kelsie to play in it!

2. My kitchen counter tops! ha! Our other kitchen in our old house was 4 times the size of this one but this one has twice as much counter space! Go figure!

3. No humidity!!!! Being raised in the south the summers are very "sticky"! Not so here! The weather is hot but there is very little if any humidity! Love that!

Pregnancy:

1. Pickles! - Enough said.

2. Having the bed to myself....sometimes! ha! Jordan has developed the habit of snoring and elbowing me in the face lately while he sleeps! So in between my runs to the bathroom in the middle of the night I am getting beat up! ha! He graciously offered to sleep on the couch last night and it was the best night of sleep I have had in 4 weeks!!! I didn't get smacked, or elbowed or kicked and I only got sick twice! Victory!

3. Getting to update emails from babycenter.com every week! I LOVE this website! I used it with Kelsie and still get emails each week about her! It is so fun and incredibly helpful! They send you what is developing each week with the baby and what you can do to take care of yourself, how to prepare for a munchkin for a sibling..fun ideas on all kinds of stuff! Check it out!

Wahoo! Wahoo! Kelsie is (almost) 2!!!

I can't believe that this sweet little girl is almost 2!!! Time has flown by so fast! Here are a few "2 year old" pictures I took of her! Will post more later! She is such a joy to our lives!
